Audio-Technica Debuts SonicFuel Headphones
At CEA Line Shows 2013 Audio-Technica is introducing its SonicFuel headphones, six in-ear models designed to take musical enjoyment to greater sonic heights. All the headphones feature ergonomic C-tip earpieces that nestle in the ear for a stay-in-place fit, and the three “iS” models have a built-in microphone for call answering and controls for music playback. Other features like the innovative 360-degree rotating ear tips, flat tangle-free cord and useful accessories are also available on various models throughout the line. The new SonicFuel headphones include the ATH-CKX9iS, ATH-CKX9, ATH-CKX7iS, ATH-CKX7, ATH-CKX5iS and ATH-CKX5, with suggested U.S. retail prices ranging from $99.95 to $44.95.

The ATH-CKX9iS and ATH-CKX9 (U.S. SRP: $99.95 and $94.95) offer exceptional audio quality and comfort, thanks to their newly developed, large 13.5 mm drivers that deliver surprisingly powerful, dynamic and immersive sound from an in-ear design, with exceptional clarity and detail. Both headphones have the same features except (like all “iS” models) the ATH-CKX9iS adds a microphone and a cord-mounted remote for smartphones, iPhone, iPad and iPod, enabling users to answer calls or use voice-over controls.
Available in colors including black, white, blue, red and purple, the ATH-CKX7iS and ATH-CKX7 have a flat, tangle-free cord and are supplied with S, M and L-sized C-tips, XS, S, M and L-sized ear tips, Comply Foam Tips and a carrying case.
The headphones have a flat, tangle-free cable that won’t get in the way, and are available in black or silver. The ATH-CKX9iS and ATH-CKX9 come with S, M and L-sized C-tips, XS, S, M and L-sized ear tips, and Comply Foam Tips that form to the shape of the ear canal. Both are supplied with a unique carrying case with an integrated cord wrap.
The SonicFuel ATH-CKX7iS communications model and ATH-CKX7 headphones (U.S. SRP: $79.95 and $74.95) feature newly-designed 360-degree rotating ear tips that adjust to the angles of the listener’s ear canals, helping to create a perfect seal for maximum bass impact and sound isolation. Their compact enhanced driver systems deliver clear, robust, impactful sound. Available in colors including black, white, blue, red and purple, the ATH-CKX7iS and ATH-CKX7 have a flat, tangle-free cord and are supplied with S, M and L-sized C-tips, XS, S, M and L-sized ear tips, Comply Foam Tips and a carrying case.
The ATH-CKX5iS communications and ATH-CKX5 headphones set new price/performance benchmarks in the under-$50 category at U.S. suggested retail prices of $49.95 and $44.95. Both feature Audio-Technica’s new 360-degree rotating eartips and high-quality compact drivers for outstanding sound quality with impactful bass and isolation from outside noise. Both are available in a choice of appealing colors including black, white, red, blue and green. The ATH-CKX5iS and ATH-CKX5 come with S, M and L-sized C-tips, XS, S, M and L-sized ear tips and a carrying pouch.
Audio-Technica SonicFuel headphones carry a two-year Audio-Technica manufacturer’s warranty.
