Audio-Technica Expands Its Player's Line Headphones Lineup With ATH-CP500i and ATH-CP500
At CES 2012, Audio-Technica is celebrating “50 Years of Passionate Listening.” The company is expanding its Player’s Line of fitness-oriented headphones with the introduction of its ATH-CP500i and ATH-CP500 Sport Fit In-ear Headphones. Both models feature a new ear-hanger design and Audio-Technica’s patented loop support system to provide a stable, comfortable fit even during intense workouts. The ATH-CP500i includes an integrated mic and controls for iPhone™, iPad® and iPod®.

Audio-Technica ATH-CP500i
The ATH-CP500i (SRP: $59.95) is identical to the ATH-CP500 (SRP: $49.95) with the addition of an in-line three-button remote that provides the ability to control volume, play, pause, fast forward and rewind music playback functions on compatible Apple devices. The remote also lets iPhone users answer calls over the headphones, or while talking via Skype or VoIP on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch®. The microphone has an omnidirectional pickup pattern (it picks up sound from all directions) and is designed for high-quality, intelligible response, enabling the wearer’s voice to be clearly transmitted without having to speak directly into the mic.

Their sleek, comfortable wrap-around design assures that they stay in place while exercising. Both models come with a handy clothing clip to keep the cord out of the way, along with a 1.2 m extension cord and a carrying pouch. The headphones feature larger 14.8 mm drivers that provide full-bodied, dynamic sound with generous bass, a natural midrange and clear highs.
